ABOUT
As president of Griffin & Stebbing, John brings a unique set of skills in marketing communications, PR, advertising, internal and media relations, video production, web and digital content, sales promotion, B2B and B2C advertising, and meetings and event presentations. He's held corporate management positions in marketing/PR in insurance, national retail and healthcare. He combines that with his own agency experience working with clients such as Abbott, Motorola, Dunlee/Philips Medical Imaging, Panasonic Healthcare, Nuveen, Brunswick, Wells Lamont, Galileo International/Cendant, United Way, the American Dietetic Association/EatRight.org and others.
John's focus on the message comes from having a writer's sensibility. He earned a degree in Journalism (News/Editorial emphasis) from Northern Illinois University, and his proficiency as a writer extends to any medium or format—press releases, video scripts, ad copy, CEO speeches, position papers, publications, high quality brochures and web content. He has developed and managed ad and media campaigns utilizing radio/TV, billboards, newspapers, bus displays, web/Google search/Facebook and email blasts. John also has planned and implemented many meetings and events, developed messaging and tactics for new product or system rollouts, and worked with local, trade and national media in both proactive (good news) and crisis situations.
John is married with two children and has served on several community and charitable boards. He is a competitive-level tennis player, and since 2010 has been the founder and tournament director for the annual River Forest Collegiate Tennis Invitational—an NCAA Division 1 men's tennis event that draws 8 top Midwestern teams to the Chicago area each fall.
