I was delighted to work with the Oak Park-River Forest Food Pantry for their first "Healthy Chef Challenge" held Saturday, April 7, 2018, at the Nineteenth Century Club in Oak Park, IL. The OPRF Food Pantry provides a wide variety of canned, packaged and fresh food items to area residents in need. This event was created by the Food Pantry's board as a way to raise funds and awareness by staging an Iron Chef-type event. The evening consisted of two separate 30-minute competitions; the first featured one teacher each from Oak Park-River Forest HS, Fenwick HS and Trinity HS; the second one consisted of three local professional chefs.
