Fun event supporting local food pantry

I was delighted to work with the Oak Park-River Forest Food Pantry for their first "Healthy Chef Challenge" held Saturday, April 7, 2018, at the Nineteenth Century Club in Oak Park, IL. The OPRF Food Pantry provides a wide variety of canned, packaged and fresh food items to area residents in need. This event was created by the Food Pantry's board as a way to raise funds and awareness by staging an Iron Chef-type event. The evening consisted of two separate 30-minute competitions; the first featured one teacher each from Oak Park-River Forest HS, Fenwick HS and Trinity HS; the second one consisted of three local professional chefs. In each case, the chefs had to work with items that the Food Pantry typically provides, along with one surprise ingredient. For more info on the OPRF Food Pantry, visit oprffoodpantry.org.
